Hey, it’s Ernie Gawack on the 15th of April, 2026.
If you’re from America, that’s tax day.
You gotta pay your tax unless you’ve been gifted a special spot by the big bulbous bill that Donald J.
Trump signed.
And, well, your tax limitations are much better.
Anyway, here in Ireland, I’m starting my morning day.
Can you tell by my voice that it’s not even 7 o’clock?
Yeah.
I want to walk through stuff that’s on the kitchen table where I’m seated.
Things that aren’t open yet.
So I have a gray box that I got from Rotofaden in Germany.
And it reminds me of a green box or a blue box or a black box.
There were different colors in a Kaiserslautern apartment that I used to frequent.
And in those boxes, a schoolteacher I knew would place different papers.
In this case, this gray box holds, I’m not sure what size it would be, not A4, not 8x10, 8x11, but it holds large pieces of paper that I’ve pulled out of books that are also on this desktop.
And I work the papers.
Some of the papers are postcards, some are greeting cards, some are just scraps that have been ripped out of journals that I’ve kept for ages.
And I’m trying to process them in a certain way.
Anyway, on top of that box or near that box is a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 charging.
I’m charging it in the morning because I’m going to use it to record a carpenter who’s going to visit the house.
I also have my lovely Rotofaden Taschenbegleiter leather clutcher.
Inside of that are some booklets that are working notes, specifically a project notebook that I’m using now at least for the last three consecutive days.
I need to make it for three consecutive weeks, give myself a reward for tracking progress on things that have to get done.
I discovered yesterday that I can use the Claude desktop connector that I have to actually ask Claude on the phone that I’m currently using to record this audio.
I can ask Claude what’s on my schedule, what things are P1s, or what things are focus, and it’ll come back with really clever answers.
Now, I would have identified some things as being hashtag P1 or hashtag focus to ensure that Claude could find them.
As I record this using a Spreaker app, it’s making a recording of audio, and it’s going to put it up into a place that can be found on Spotify or a podcatcher of any type.
But I’m also going to paste the audio into micro.blog where it generates a transcript that you can read on my blog.
It’s called insideview.ie.
I’ll go back and I’ll edit this audio to put the exact URL where that is.
But if you knew the words insideview.ie and you were looking on that site for a thing called My Desktop Morning, you’d probably find this clip at the bottom of a short post that elaborates on what I’m talking about.
Anyway, the pages I’m pulling out for the gray box that I have relate to projects that I do that are in documents that I’ve written years ago.
So back in 2006, I filled several copy books of stuff related to what was happening in 2006.
I’m harvesting the best stuff and the failures of that time of my life.
And I’m trying to see can I use Claude to harvest them.
So can I read a page or a portion of a page and have Claude put the thing I read, what I read, the words I read into an obsidian vault.
So meaning that instead of working on rewriting the page or grabbing the text in the page and putting it up, can I just talk it and talk the page directly into my personal knowledge management vault.
If I could do that today, woo-boo, I’ll tell you about it in the follow-on podcast.
I also have a lovely burgundy Leuchtturm 1917 book.
It has about 190 pages in it, and most of those pages are reserved for training programs that I do.
I do one on Friday, Claude AI for Beginners in Dublin.
You could probably Google that and find it.
It’s an event bright item for something that goes from 11 to 1 in the center of Dublin.
And finally, I have a Surface book that’s powered off.
It runs out of power in about 20 minutes.
And it’s covered by an iPad mini, which is inside of a green leather clutch.
So I have way too much cool fashion accessories if you start with an accessory of the pocket camera and the leather, the two leather clutches that I use.
I love it.
Okay, that’s me and my desktop for the morning.
While I was listening to the Dawn Chorus, one of our cats was watching on the table with the door open, opening to the garden outside.
I hope your day starts as peacefully as this.
If you want to see the rest of what I do, insideview.ie is the blog I have.
It’s powered by Microblog.
And the long-form content I write is over on topgold.ie or on my LinkedIn.
I’m Bernie.
Bye for now.
