Progress with Chris the intern

· Bernie Goldbach

When I asked my AI to summarise my 30 Sep morning notes in my Rhodia Notebook, my Claude said “30 September: A Day of Progress and Small Wins”.

The best news of the day came from Chris, who shared how his very first LinkedIn article got him more than 1400 impressions. Claude reminded me, “It’s a good reminder that the most satisfying wins are often the ones someone else achieves, and worth celebrating”.

I had five items on my morning list.

  1. Discuss vanity metrics.

Follower counts and likes are easy to admire but hard to act on. Talking through what really matters felt like a worthwhile use of time.

  1. Sort Drive storage.

Not glamorous, but clearing space and getting organised makes everything else run more smoothly. Chris used his Revolut to increase his Google Drive storage. He is blowing through space because we snap a half dozen images every morning that will be used in training programmes.

  1. How to use Gamma.

I need Chris to watch Gamma tutorials on YouTube. He has to show me a new way of building presentations and documents. Then we will use his discoveries to supplement training materials for Skillnet micro-courses.

  1. Listen to Mark Little on algorithms.

Understanding how platforms decide what we see feels like the natural follow-up to the vanity metrics conversation.

  1. Print from the Canon SELPHY printer.

This is a tooI in the photo that I use for training elderly people in lifelong learning sessions.

This blog post was created by me taking a photo of my handwritten note and then asking Claude to summarise my handwriting in my voice.
