Changing tyres with perfect nails. Rite of Passage.

My dad insisted that I change the tyres on the family car before he let me drive it myself. I’ve continued this rite of passage with our 19yo driver.

Fair play to Mia. She used her weight to loosen the lug nuts on her car. And finished the process while using my socket set to unscrew them without cracking her nails.

Unfortunately, we could not loosen all the lug nuts from the alloys so now she's driving four wheels with rubber in the back of her car until she can find someone with a pneumatic lug wrench to loosen her front tyres. I won't be surprised if she drives back from Dublin to use our local shade tree mechanic because the shops near her campus want to charge her more than €200 to use their power tools.
