I'm reading The Last Good Day on the Internet because I was there to see the roaming llamas back then. I scrolled back into my blog's archive and through my Flickr Camera Roll to see what was in front of my on 26 February 2015. It was my over-sized Nokia Lumia 1520 screen. And like a snapshot in time, that screen shows apps and activities that were front and centre in my life. My simple role of teaching could not match the level of activity that Mark Little enjoyed while working with Twitter, Storyful, and Kinzen. Much of my activity back then–as now–revolved around design thinking and journaling.

I’ve been on the internet longer than Mark Little but only because I was connected to the ARPANET with a military email address. Some of the workflows I learned from my earliest days remain part of my process thinking and routines. I am an avid practioner of handwritten journaling that’s complemented by its digital associate. And I have the pencils to prove it.
