Relayed with Obsidian and @sm2n

I’m enjoying an unexpected connection powered by both three channels. One of the channels is a shared Obsidian Vault that uses a Relay Community plugin.

I’ve convinced Simon to try Obsidian as a personal knowledge management system. And we’re using the Relay community plugin to see the edits that both of us compelte.

I also use Obsidian Sync on my iPad Mini, on my Smasung phone and on my laptop. That means I can see the work he is doing, and he can see the stuff I’m doing.

Occasionally, we can see each other writing in the same exact sentence. When that happens, the Relay server pops up a little green or little blue rectangle, allowing us to accept the edits that we see.

I made the decision to try some things with Obsidian based on recommendations from Nick Milo or @fromSergio.

One handy thing about working with Simon on this unexpected collaborative venture is his awareness of security issues related to shared content. We share some of those concerns by using the encrypted Signal app.

During the rest of the year, I hope to share ideas about collaborative content, including how this blog post was published directly to my website by using another Obsidian plugin called micro.publish created by Otavia Cordelia.
