Visited a Man Cave and a Viewing
I went to Waterford to explore a N3 Man Cave and then onward to Dungarvan to attend a viewing of a former colleague. Along the way I made a short audio note to myself. My 255 bus desktop holds my iPad Mini in the green leather clutch and my working Rhodia in the brown Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter.

I enjoyed an unexpected two hour flight through Ken McCarthy’s N3 Man Cave on the Waterford campus of the Southeast Technological University. That was a pilgrimage that everyone involve in Irish edtech should complete. It is truly a multi-sensory experience that I will recap in a separate post.

I also spent several hours in Dungarvan, paying my respects to the family of a departed colleague. I’ve attended more than a dozen viewings in funeral parlors around Ireland. The Dungarvan experience was equal part shock and laughter. It was also the first somber Irish gathering with lovely daughters who surprised me by knowing fragments of stories I’d forgotten. It turns out that “Bernie the crazy American” shared snippets of his past life during tea time and that some of those snippets were much more memorable than I thought. I think I’ll rehash some of those stories as “Goldbach’s Conjectures” and make my Ghost blog light up a few more lives.
I shared some of memories over a few pints in The Local with Derek Blackweir. And now need to return the favour.

I have measured the intensity of a day by a combinated of what my Whoop says (it’s the black band on my wrist) and the numbers of empty glasses. That’s the third empty pint glass at my elbow.
All in all, a very vibrant day from table top on the bus to the final sunset of a lively colleague.
