Digital memory device
TWO STUDENTS from Tipperary Institute’s multimedia degree head into Kenya on Saturday to work with an agricultural college. Their remit includes a digital recording challenge. That is, they will use several digital devices to record their experiences, posting on this weblog a series of entries related to their time in Kenya. If all goes well, their Nokia 9500 will double as a field computer and a communications device. Don’t expect a lot of images, however, because the Nokia 9500’s images are data-friendly (e.g., they are lightweight and inexpensive, not like the two-megapixel N70 that threatens to skewer my current account with data charges). Thelma Cotter will be manning the keyboard and Lily Doran will snap shots with the Fujifilm S602Z camera. They’re carrying sound recording equipment in the form of the Nokia 9500 and the Sony ICD MX-20. Lily should have an excellent set of Moleskine journals on her return. Check back here for regular updates.
