While attending a Final Year Show on the TUS-Clonmel campus, I heard a graduate from 2021 share with other lecturers that he remembered me showing what artificial intelligence could do for knowledge workers. Today that graduate works with architectural design and he leverages CAD routinely. He remembers me explaining how AI would cognify the workplace. (Cognification is a term used by Kevin Kelly in The Inevitable that we used in an Emerging Trends module I taught.
I’m starting to go back through my camera roll, finding photos of past students who are willing to share eureka moments they remember from my teaching days. I will be ecstatic when discovering graduates who believe in the importance of note-taking. I will be over the moon if someone mentions how they’ve set up a Second Brain.
