
One of the most technically difficult items that I am learning to use is my DJI Osmo 360 camera. I realise it’s because I’m trying to think panoramically instead of just thinking in terms of line of sight. The camera is dead simple to operate so I should just let it do its job and then select the viewing perspective as a post-production task.
I need to train members of the youth media team on this workflow. The first thing I've noticed is my Samsung S25 handset handles uploads of videos to Microblog's CMS better than the iOS version of Microblog on my iPad Mini. Here's what my Samsung phone uploaded:

From previous work with 360 videos, I know that when I see “tearing” or stitching lines, it’s usually an issue with the source stitching. I have discovered I should keep people or subject material at least 1.5 metres from the lens to avoid distortion at the stitch points.
