On the 25th of April 1980, a former Air Force Academy classmate of mine was severely injured when his C-130 burned in the desert of Iran following an unsuccessful extraction of hostages from the US Embassy. I was thinking of Jeffrey B. Harrison on the 4th of April 2026 when newer MC-130s were deliberately destroyed and left behind in the Iranian desert.
