I am trying to reduce the footprint I use on public transport so I’ve downsized to an iPad Mini with 190 pages in a notebook and a pen. I want to carry all those items in one hand so my attention turned to Roterfaden in Germany and their Taschenbegleiter.
I knew I was getting an authentic German product because the delivery docket was printed on very functional recycled paper with the distinctive red Roterfaden imprint. The senders thanked me for my order and they “hereby delivered” the SOL23 leather journal, the M format format Notebook Project Planner, an accordion folder B6 calendar that I marked up immediately, one B6 format notepad and an archive black box.
I made a quick video and when I listened to it, I realise I sound unimpressed and in need of a caffeine boost. You decide.
I feel like I’m redeemed for the choices I’ve made in the past for the inserts, refills, and paper choices that I’ve made. The 64 page mD blanks from Traveler’s Notebook in my bookshelves will have a new home when held in place by the stainless steel clips inside the Taschenbegleiter.
I have too many handwritten journals that deserve my archival skills–hundreds of Moleskines, TNs, and Leuchtturms take up shelf space in our home. I like having pages of my life, in my cursive, standing at attention on my shelves. I’m seriously considering putting all 356 of them on shelves in our COVID cabin behind the house. By the end of 2026, you might discover a new pinpoint on Google Maps called Moleskine Cabin. You’re welcome to visit and stroke my Taschenbegleiter youself.
