I have been listening to Alastair McDermott for decades. He spotlightd the need for soft skills in our tech world. Alastair spent a lot of 2025 explaining that Al will eliminate jobs. Alastair also shared his ideas for how people can stay relevant and resilient with Al. It means honing critical thinking skills, refining emotional intelligence, showing creativity, and communicating authentically.

There is a strong drum beat for these soft skills banging on from the C-suite now. Senior executives know that AI tools xan execute tasks, it still struggles with nuanced judgment. This makes creativity, flexibility, and learning agility more valuable. You’re going to want to be creative. You’re going to want to be good at critical thinking. And you’re going to want to be flexible.

Thanks for the advice, Alastair.
