This past month I worked with a Ukrainian couple who live with their twin daughters in Clonmel. He is a carpenter. She is a trainer. I am glad I met them.
A report in November 2025 from Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed 119,043 personal public service (PPS) numbers have been issued to Ukrainians since they started arriving in Ireland after the Russian invasion. At the end of August 2025, 83,594 Ukrainians were still in Ireland. Many drive cars with UA registration numbers on the back.
If you want to visit the part of Ireland with the greatest density of Ukrainians, head to the Kenmare Municipal District in County Kerry, an area that stretches from Kenmare around the Ring of Kerry up to Killorglin. That area had both the highest number of arrivals of Ukrainians (1,873) and the highest proportion of Ukrainians for every 100 people of the population.
