Chuckie the Pomeranian

6 Apr 2005: Chuckie died today of old age.

Chuckie the Pomeranian enjoyed his new home with us in Garringreen, Kilkenny, Ireland. In early September, the clear blue sky offered day-long sessions roaming his newly adopted garden. [Adopt a dog like Chuckie, Doggie or Holly from the Inistioge Puppy Rescue.]

I will always remember Chuckie as a gentle and courteous dog.

We agreed to rehome him for a short term while his owner was in care. I didn’t know that meant Chuckie’s elder friend was in hospice.

Chuckie was sick on arrival to our home in Kilkenny. He became arthritic within a year. It hurt him to walk. He yelped when he jumped off the bed.

I would walk Chuckie with our other adopted Pomeranian who we named Doggie. Chuckie would walk under Doggie’s lead.

Chuckie had to pee a lot. During his last days, I would hold Chuckie’s rear legs up so he could pee straight down and not wet himself.
